NOTICE |
The engine start switch must be in the ON position and the engine must be running in order to maintain electrical functions and hydraulic functions. This procedure must be followed in order to prevent serious machine damage. |

| HEAT (1) - If the engine is difficult to start in cold weather, turn the engine start switch key to this position and hold the engine start switch key in this position. The indicator on the monitor panel turns on and the glow plug starts to preheat. After 10 seconds to 15 seconds, the engine will be ready to start. Turn the engine start switch key to the START position in order to start the engine. Release the key when the engine starts. |

| OFF (2) - Insert the engine start switch key only when the engine start switch is in the OFF position. Also, remove the engine start switch key only when the engine start switch is in the OFF position. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position before you attempt to restart the engine. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position in order to stop the engine. |

| ON (3) - The engine start switch will return to the ON position when the engine start switch key is released from the START position. |

| START (4) - Turn the engine start switch to the START position in order to crank the engine. Release the engine start switch key when the engine starts. |
Note: Return the key to the OFF position if the engine does not start.This must be done before another starting attempt is made.
Note: If the engine does not start after 30 seconds, return the engine start switch to the OFF position. Wait for two minutes before you turn the engine start switch to the START position again.
To start the engine, the battery disconnect switch must be in the ON position. Also, the hydraulic activation control lever must be in the LOCKED position. For details, see the Operation and Maintenance, "Engine Starting".
