(6) The height of the camshaft lobes
To find the lobe height, use the procedure that follows:
- Measure the camshaft lobe height (7) .
- Measure the base circle (8) .
- Subtract the base circle measurement (Step 1) from the camshaft lobe height (Step 2). The difference is the actual lobe lift (6) .
- The specified camshaft lobe lift (6) is the following amount.
Exhaust lobe ... 8.515 mm (0.3352 inch)
Intake lobe ... 9.702 mm (0.3820 inch)
Injector lobe ... 10.451 mm (0.4115 inch)
The minimum permissible difference between the actual lobe lift (Step 3) and the specified lobe lift (Step 4) is 0.13 mm (0.005 inch).
