Alternator - Remove and Install

Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery. First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable. A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire. |
- Remove bolts (1) and belt guard (2).

- Install alternator (6) in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten bolts (8) that secure the alternator to the bracket to the torque of.
50 N·m (37 lb ft) . - Tighten nut (5) to the torque of.
4 ± 1 N·m (39 ± 9 lb in) . - Tighten nut (3) to the torque of.
18 ± 2 N·m (13 ± 2 lb ft) .
- Tighten bolts (8) that secure the alternator to the bracket to the torque of.
