The new 322-1644 Access Door As (VENTED) |
A new vented access door for the engine compartment is available. Overheating of the engine can occur during machine operations when the machine is equipped with a machine enclosure seal kit. The various seals, covers, and brushes that are used in the machine enclosure seal kits for blocking the entry of debris also reduce ventilation of the engine compartment. The new 312-1024 Engine Enclosure Kit (VENTED) provides improved ventilation inside the engine compartment.
The new 312-1024 Engine Enclosure Kit (VENTED) is available through the Caterpillar parts system.
The Special Instruction, REHS4079, "Installing the 312-1024 Engine Enclosure Kit (VENTED)" provides the details for installing the new vented access door. This special instruction is available through the normal literature distribution system. The publication can also be found on the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
