1.1: Engine Control

* Fully electronic eight notch engine speed governor.
* Low idle notch engine speed governor setting.
* Dual engine speed ramp rates for switch-yard and main-line operation.
* Smoke limiting rack schedule during engine start.
* Dual engine speed for low and high levels of dynamic braking.

1.2: Traction Power Control

* Low notch traction power control (typically in notches one thru three).
* High notch gross engine power control (typically in notches four thru eight).
* Load test mode.
* Generator voltage limiting.
* Generator current limiting.
* Differential wheelslip regulation.
* Synchronous wheelslip regulation.
* Traction motor current limiting.
* Traction motor current matching (performance control).
* Automatic sanding.

1.3: Dynamic Brake Control (If Equipped)

* Grid current regulation.
* Field current regulation.
* Differential wheelslip regulation.
* Automatic sanding.
* Grid cooling fan failure alarm.
* Grid current alarm.

1.4: Engine Protection

* Linear power derate with high coolant temperature (through traction power control).
* Step power derate with high coolant temperature (backup to the linear derate through traction power control).
* Linear power derate with low barometric pressure (through traction power control).
* Low oil pressure shutdown.
* Overspeed shutdown.
* Automatic drop out of starter motors.
* Starter motors inhibited from engagement with engine running.
* High crankcase shutdown (if equipped).
* High coolant temperature alarm.

1.5: Maintenance

* Comprehensive fault diagnostic indications.
* Fault tolerant (limp home current limits) under certain conditions of sensor/harness failures.
* Fail-safe strategy (zero excitation) in event of multiple sensor/harness failures.
* Each individual module in the electronic governing system is pre-calibrated for reliable and easy maintenance.
